The move to publish the names is very laudable but perhaps the total number given to people over the 20 odd years should also be given.
I would guess that those who started receiving in 1980 would probably have received perhaps 10% of the current number.
Then under the very "clever" selection criteria of MITI of rewarding those who performed, their quota was increased based on good performance. One can only speculate as to what performance entails.
Suppose you received 200 in 2005, possibly in 1980, you would have got 20. After all, now you have your children and a larger family to take care of. It is interesting that even the estate of a deceased can qualify. What about the living poor?
How do we ever get to eradicate poverty with this type of program?Looks as if the rich Bumis are depriving the poor Bumis now.
