Practical Maths for Malaysians
In line with the policy of teaching Maths with English, here are a few maths problems to improve students’ understanding of Mathematics and English.
- If Ahmad Company and Ali Company get 2778 and 3564 permits respectively, what is the average permit per company?
- If both companies make a profit of RM15,500 per permit, how much profit does each company make?
- If each company has to make kickbacks of RM6666 per permit, by how much would their profits be reduced?
- If Mustaffa has 40% share of Ali Company, how many permits would the company need for him to become a millionaire, after kickbacks are paid?
- If Sundram wants to apply for permits for his company, how long will it take for his licence to be approved? (Hint: Trick question)
Each question 20 marks. What did you score?

Hi hj angus:
RM15,500 per permit
More, much more I submit
The holders won't admit
Cause too many to vomit
Thy sums I am wont to do
How much RM? if I get one right
OtherWISE I won't do
Those kickbacks have gone outasight
PS: Penned tis as a Guest Entry after Officially saying: WELCOME to BlosWorld!
Oops:
The "g" ran away after seeing the tough sums!
Welcome to BlogsWorld; maybe it's Blos as in Blos'om? or Is it B(l)osom? English is a handsum language, ain't it!
Haha...
Thanks for your thoughts.
Do U think anyone at MITI keeps track of how much gravy is available?
Contratulations on having your own blog.
Those fellows at MITI are truly "industrious". Knowing how much gravy is available, haven't they opted for early retirement, and been given APs as golden handshakes? What a way to go! Wish I were that lucky.
Thanks peter
Guess it only shows that there are many smart Bumis, too.
Especially when it comes to benefitting from the NEP.
