How Much Would You Pay for a Painted Pole?
It seems the the Perak state government has excess funds as they paid RM349,000 for a glorified flag pole in their bid to have the highest flag pole in Ipoh.
Granted it is a 50m pole but how can it cost almost RM350k? Is there some gold plating somewhere or perhaps the top has some diamonds encrusted to give off a brilliant sparkle?
If it is a painted pole, it should not have cost more than RM100k and if made of stainless steel perhaps RM250. But RM350?
Maybe some of those diamonds were replaced with zirconium ones and the real rocks now stored in someone’s house now.
What do you think of this project? If you follow their train of thinking(?) Perak will soon have a Petronas like twin towers!

It will not be long before the rates go up in Perak, judging by how they spend the rakyat's money.
Apparently, the change in lifestyle exhorted by Najib applies only to the man-in-the-street, not those in charge of state coffers.
