Malaysians with Hearts of Gold

Today’s Star has a touching story that despite our differences, some Malaysians have a caring heart.

This is a very meaningful gesture that will help one family out of the poverty cycle. However I believe that this girl does not need tuition and that money would be better used to provide the basic necessities of adequate food, paying for water and electrical supply and some medical bills.

This is the type of family that deserves help under any NEP program that is being touted. Enduring abject poverty but still being able to struggle and produce sterling results. Now do you think MITI could grant this family just 2 transferable APs per year until this girl completes her tertiary education?

Or perhaps some of our wealthier MPs can transfer their APs to this deserving case.
