Just Replace the Word “Spent” with “Wasted”
So my last article on the RM250m being used for a 1.5km flyover is not the complete story of the crooked bridge saga.
Apart from the road that is really essential in order for the gleaming new CIQ not to become a white elephant, one wonders if Malaysia has really so much money to spend on extra buildings to enhance the massive complex.
Landscaping would have been an integral part of the original project and the extra buildings and improvements to the old CIQ should not be added on. What did they overlook in the original plan that we have to add on another RM150m variation orders assuming the flyover costs RM100m?
The government extols the public to cut back on living standards and here we are dishing out extra building contracts willy-nilly.
If such extra works are really necessary, surely Johore has enough competent builders to take on such construction projects.
Looking at the photo, they did get the colour correct for this colossal reminder of our negotiating incompetence and financial shenanigans.
