Another View of Siti’s Marriage
I think enough has been written in the local media about Siti’s coming marriage.
Apart from the front page, the Star has another 4 pages on the grand occasion.
No doubt Siti is a rare talent. Not only is she beautiful but she can also sing well. Such a combination is the stuff of which Malaysia can be proud.
However to me her star quality has been tarnished as she has caused the breakup of a marriage of at least 19 years and caused a third party to have to leave her four children. Given that the eldest children are closer in age to their future stepmother than her husband, it could result in an unhealthy family environment.
It is simply too convenient to blame all our decisions on fate. If you step in front of an express train you cannot blame fate for your demise.
I hope the authorities will stop using Siti as a role model for our youth as this action shows that she is not the perfect role model for family values.
Now we can claim that Malaysia Boleh in the field of marriage go-rounds is on a level equal to the Hollywood circuit.

Well said HJ! I think more ppl should be brave enough to look at Siti's choice as an insult to good family values.
Do celebrities like Tiara and Siti make good role models for society?
Not if you are the one who must suffer the anguish of having your husband fall for a SYT!
She is not the only one to be blamed though.
The guy is just as guilty. In fact he should be more responsible as one would hope that some wisdom come with age!
My thoughts exactly!!! and to have it on front page of National papers when there were other more newsworthy stories...like death in Lebanon, floods in China and those killed in Java's Tsunami!!

I guess newspapers pander to the most readership and even in advanced countries this also happens.
For example organise a "Sure Heboh" concert and you will easily draw thousands but organise a serious forum and only a few will show up.
The question is are the newspapers that out of touch with the general public or are we that much a minority in public opinion, which leads me to the next question; Has our society been reduced to this, interest in a glamorous teenage face and her love affair over news in Lebanon, Indoensia or China?
