We Should be Disappointed with the Johor Menteri Besar
It was reported in the Star that the Johor MB was disappointed that the forum to discuss Article 11 was held.
We should be equally disappointed when a leader disapproves of a legitimate forum to discuss the Constitution that was conducted in a professional and mature manner.
If citizens cannot discuss in a rational manner matters that impinge and affect all aspects of our lives, are we to entrust this important issue to politicians?
Going by his irresponsible remark it is imperative that more ordinary citizens should get involved is such matters as we really need to take care of our own interests.
It would have been more productive for the MB to have attended the forum to see for himself what the fuss was about. If anything, he should have been present to double check that all the necessary security measures were satisfactory.
It appears he only bothered about the well-being of only a certain portion of Johor residents.

Something wrong with the spelling?? Articale??
Anyway, just another citizen of Malaysia who cannot tolerate open and constructive discussions.
pablopabla
I noticed that too but their spelling error was little concern compared to what was in their minds!
Please attend the next forum when they have it in KL.
I believe the police will keep the peace with some compromising.
They had a difficult task but perhaps it is part of the process that will enable both sides to sit down to talk in a proper forum.
At the moment one side wants to discuss but the other does not want to discuss but protest.
It is sad really to notice that many of these protestors probably do not know what was the topic for discussion in the forum.
Judging from their banners, they appear to be thinking that the forum is discussing ways to reduce the role of Islam in Malaysia.
Perhaps, many of them were influenced by the leaders (who, in the first place, will not even descend into the forum to air their alternative views).
