Women of Malaysia, UNITE!
You have nothing to lose but your unreasonableness.
That seems to be the message of the Pahang MB when he told a gathering of women that it was not time yet for a woman to become a Prime Minister as reported yesterday in malaysiakini.
I suggest to women in Malaysia to form a new independent party to prove that not only can a woman become the Prime Minister but that she will probably be a better PM than the ones we have had since independence.
If you listen to people like the Pahang MB you will forever be subservient to such leaders who do not realise that women power is real.
Women are already working in all careers that men do but the only area that they lag behind is political but don't you women think you can produce a much better candidate rather than listen to such a put-down?
I wonder what was the reaction of the women when they heard such a sexist remark. Was there a collective gasp of shock? I think I would have booed or walked out the door.
What’s wrong with a woman being a Prime Minister?
The list of women leaders is long and growing – at present with Arroyo in the Philippines and the first woman PM I can recall is Golda Meier of Israel, a very democratic nation and most readers will remember Margaret Thatcher of the UK.
You can see a list of pioneer women here.
To me the reason that Malaysia is not ready to have a woman Prime Minister is that the women themselves have not made up their collective minds to get stuck in the muck and mire of politics that is considered a dirty game.
This means that many people in political leadership at present have dirty minds and we need more honest people in government to help Malaysia progress further.
Come on gals, go for it.

Isn't this the same MB who used uncouth language and asked reporters to quote him??
Yes, this is the same MB who was also caught on video expressing his views on something by repeatedly covering the top of his closed left fist with the palm of his open right hand.
You get the leaders you vote for.
Yes, I can remember that. Still doing that since school days, I presume.
