Come to JB for the Striptease ......
...... of the lamp posts.
About two years ago, the MBJB purchased some expensive lamp posts that cost a few thousand ringgit each. I wonder who got the contract?
Today the lamp posts are a sorry sight; some have been stripped bare and they look worse than the old ordinary lamp posts made of spun concrete that are common in poorer areas.
It looks as if newer posts are being installed with fewer components. Maybe the contractor wised up and figured, “if it is going to be stolen, I should just omit this item from the supply.”
The question is, “has the price been adjusted for the material change?”
One other peeve is that some bright spark decided to light up some trees and connected the wires into the gutted lamp post. All we need now is some curious kid to mess around inside the base.
This is the standard of care provided by your local authorities. Does anyone really bother anymore?
This is third class design and construction and don't you believe the crap about first world infrastructure.

OMG.. If some kid got electrocuted, I wonder if the local authorities will also be absolved of all responsibilities ala Highland Towers? Pray those MBJB flers fix up the problem before someone got killed, esp. with the current rainy weather.
Those covers have been removed for months now.
Interesting thing is that some of the exposed lamps are within walking distance of MBJB HQ.
