Has Time Stood Still?
This is a heartwarming story of some guys who are helping some natives
in Kelantan. They take the trouble to travel more than 500km from the Klang Valley to teach the natives in a remote area some basic cultivation techniques.
These are true Malaysians who have decided to help others who appear to be neglected. What intrigues me is what has the Department of Orang Asli done to help these neglected ones?
As seen in the web-site, it appears that the matters related to them are considered of little importance as they have been transferred from pillar to post.
It is quite shocking to learn that after 30 years of NEP, we still have Malaysians who are barely eking out a living. No wonder the Orang Asli have serious health issues.
Apart from this good deed, the most usual story about the Orang Asli is when their homelands are threatened when state governments decide to decimate the forests.
The way things have been managed, it will not be surprising if the original natives of Malaysia become extinct.

I think both deserve help if they have special needs.
And I think some of these orang asli prefer to carry on a usual so long as no one disturbs their forest domain.
But unfortunately, they are fast losing that as there is so much wealth in the jungle aka timber!
