Warning! Teaching Can Kill You
It was a tragedy just waiting to happen.
With so many partially assisted schools that receive only a little support from the government, an accident is bound to happen as many such schools are not properly maintained.
It was reported that the Education Minister would help the family and this is a generous gesture on his part. It would have been better if he did not have to refer to the teacher's race as everyone knows that. A tinge of guilt perhaps?
Now everyone is scurrying about until the whole matter dies down.
A teacher in his prime has died and I am sure his pupils will feel the terrible loss.
How can we avoid a repeat of this incident?
I suggest all schools should get a certificate of inspection and fitness from local authorities or the JKR once every 2 years.
The school cannot operate if it fails inspection.
Such a scheme will ensure that public buildings like schools are safe for occupation.
