Horror on Malaysian Roads
Today's newspapers carry another story of more deaths on Malaysian roads.
It is really tragic when families are destroyed and the surviving members have to cope with such a tragedy.
What can you do about it?
1.If you are an experienced driver, make sure you check out your son or daughter's drving ability even if they have passed the driving test.
2.If you are a new driver, get an experienced driver to check out your ability.
There are just too many drivers on Malaysian roads who can cause you death or bodily harm.
We supervised our two daughters for about a month after they passed. But one daughter did manage to tail-gate someone as she ignored my advice to always keep a safe distance. The other vehicles had power brakes far superior to the Kancil but luckily only the car was damaged.
I believe our driving test does not test enough on overtaking skills; especially on rural roads where there is no central divider. People ignore double lines and other markings and endanger other motorists.
Even on a dual carriageway, many do not understand the speed at which cars are travelling. Often someone will do a quick lane change right into your lane and you have to brake like crazy.
Then there are the crazy car modifiers with blue indicators, blinding white headlights.
Sounds familiar? Welcome to Malaysian driving....I wonder if there is an index for bad drivers? I am sure we will be challenging for the bottom positions.

I'm sure we've already secured the bottom position by a wide margin.
To bad TV Smith did not include this in his 'Real Olympics' piece.
