The Great Debate on Independence.

There is a lot of hot air on who fought and won Merdeka for Malayans. Malaysia came later.
No one can argue that Tunku was the leader but no leader can lead without a team and followers.
I don't believe the British would have given us independence if they did not believe that the Tunku and his team could make a go of independence.

May I suggest to all the "combatants" of the issue that it would be more fruitful and productive for Malaysia if we closely examine if all the ideals that we fought for during the independence struggle are being fulfilled today.

That would be a more meaningful tribute to Bapa Malaysia.
