Putting the Cart Before the Horse in Ipoh
Soon after the RM20,000 a month horse fiasco, the state authorities are now going to import three Victorian horse carriages for a cost of RM90,000.
The curious thing is that they realise that they cannot afford to maintain horses but now want people to take up their offer of renting these units at RM1 a month.
I thought we had been weaned from all things colonial with the changes of the alien street names to local ones and now they want to import these carriages that are probably going to end up gathering rust in some storage yard.
With about 7% hard-core poor the state should come up with more creative ventures to create jobs such as trishaw rides for tourists rather than horse-less carriages.
Coming so soon after the RM20,000 a month fiasco, maybe we should hitch up some of those councilors to a carriage for a ride around Ipoh. Or as one of our ministers will say, "Why don't you use a bullock cart?"

I'd say Ipoh council has been allocated too much money for its annual budget requirement that they can fritter it away so casually.
How our Federal & State Govts can allow such frivolous spending to happen is really beyond me, especially when the rakyat is CONSTANTLY told to tighten their belts and bear with tough measures and higher assessments and utility bills.
Where is the justification in squeezing the pockets of the average wage-earner to fund such excesses?? These council guys need to have their heads squeezed to see if there are any brains in them!
some people will want another part of their anatomy squeezed!
