No Minister.....
When I was a Scout many years ago, we were told to treat the state and national flags with great respect. The flag was never to touch the ground when we raised or lowered the flag.
Nowadays it seems the more places you can display the flag or the bigger the flag, the more patriotic you are.
We see flags draped over car bonnets - I wonder if they wipe on the flag when they check the oil or battery level?
We even see flags being incorporated into uniforms - I wonder if a prostitute were to wear a dress-flag and she services a client, is that considered part of her national service?
I saw a car with a standard sized flag mounted on the rear. When the car was parked near my house, the flag was on the ground - how patriotic is that?
Perhaps the upset Minister is not aware that fuel prices, tolls and other costs are up and Malaysians are worried about the rising cost of living. They cannot afford to buy decorations that are quickly discarded.
Also it seems that every year, we have the same old campaign. Can't your ministry think out of the box and be more imaginative?
Picture from Star Online. A dangerous practice. That extra fixture may affect the functionality of your crash helmet.
