Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?
Our children are so easy to please - give them some simple treats, nice clothing and an interesting program and you will get miles of smiles.
But what will the next 15 years bring?
Already we have sold our gas production for the next 20 years and the national airline is struggling for survival, keeping airborne by creative accounting techniques like off-loading all its assets.
Our universities appear to be in turmoil, with some lecturers refusing to conform to the intellectual straitjacket of the Akujanji. Some have even been sacked as they were deemed to have breached the rules. It reminds me of St Thomas More who lost his head as he would not put his king before his God.
Our political parties have still not eliminated their tactics of exploiting racism to remain in power.
Even in a tropical rainforest climate like Malaysia, we cannot even provide clean drinking water to the whole country. In fifteen years, we could be facing a serious water shortage in the country. Meanwhile our forest reserves continue to be "converted" into cash for some powerful individuals.
Perhaps with so many problems like mega-projects going horribly wrong, we should emulate the children and learn to smile a little when they dish out some freebies.
But no APs please - we do not want to upset the people at Proton.
